TigerPress acquires Van Volumes, a short run book publishing company catering to self-publishers
NORTHAMPTON, MASS-Expansion continues for TigerPress with the recent acquisition of Van Volumes,
a short run book publishing company catering to self-publishers.
"This is a perfect fit for us," said Reza Shafii, owner of TigerPress. "Van Volumes customer base
and capabilities merged seamlessly, and enhances our recent expansion of digital printing services with TigerXpress.
"We can now offer complete printing services for short run book publishing with perfect binding."
Russell Tate, President of Van Volumes, and former owner said, "The self-publishing industry is booming.
"With access to online marketing, authors now have the capability to see their work in print very quickly,
and very inexpensively, even for short runs of less than 2,000 books."
Van Volumes offers a wide range of book publishing services, including digital and offset printing,
along with book restoration services.
They accept various media formats including existing books, digital files and galley proofs.
"Or we can build the book from the author's manuscript with TigerPress' in-house graphic design department,"
Van Volumes offers several binding options including Perfect Binding, the classic paperback style,
in addition to hard cover, spiral bound, wire binding or comb binding.
"Our clients range from small publishing houses to self-publishing authors," said Tate. "And merging
with TigerPress has increased our capacity tremendously."
"We also serve the needs of family and local historians, poets, fiction and non-fiction writers,
fundraising groups, and technical writers."
"Since we are a short run book printer we will produce any quantity from a few to a few thousand."
Van Volumes is now located within the recently expanded TigerPress facility at 155 Industrial Drive in
Northampton, MA, and is on the web at www.vanvolumes.com.
