NORTHAMPTON, MASS-Reza Shafii, Owner and President of TigerPress, a commercial printing company based in Northampton, MA, announced the acquisition of the former Mansir-Holden printing and packaging plant located at 4 Industrial Drive East in S. Deerfield, Massachusetts.
Mansir-Holden had closed its doors earlier this year without notice to its employees, shutting down their original plant in Holyoke, and their newer packaging plant in S. Deerfield. Both locations and their contents went on public auction.
The company was originally founded in 1903 by Newell Mansir, and had been purchased by David Bryson in 1986.
The company changed hands again in 2005 when it was bought by Venture Partners Capital of East Berlin, Connecticut.
Along with the purchase of the 40,000 square foot plant, which effectively doubled the size of its footprint, TigerPress acquired the complete assets of the S. Deerfield plant.
The packaging plant specialized in the production of a wide variety of cardboard boxes for the retail environment and features a 6-color 40" Heildelberg press with coater, 2 diecutters, right angle gluer and a windowing machine.
Along with cardboard printing, Mansir-Holden’s high-end commercial color offset printing was produced at the newer S. Deerfield plant.
